On Monday, US Vice President JD Vance reached at Palam airport for his first official visit to India. The US VP is being accompanied by his Indian-origin wife, Usha Vance, his children and the senior members of the US Administration.
Ahead of the arrival of US Vice President JD Vance, his hoardings were also put up near Palam airport to give him a warm welcome.
Vice President Vance is on a four-day official visit to India, starting from today, i.e. from April 21 to 24.
As per ANI reports, he will be meeting PM Narendra Modi at his official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg today at 6:30 pm.
The two leaders might discuss on enhancing cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, and defense between the two countries.
After his official meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, VP JD Vance will be visiting Jaipur on Tuesday. On April 23, he is scheduled to visit Agra, according to ANI.
The stunning UNESCO World Heritage site, Taj Mahal, is being readied for the upcoming visit of Vice President Vance. Over the years, the iconic monument has hosted several big leaders and now is all set to welcome welcome Vice President Vance and his wife as they stroll through the mausoleum and take in its timeless beauty.
In 2020, US President Donald Trump along with First Lady Melania Trump visited the Taj Mahal.
JD Vance's visit to India will end on Thursday, April 24, with his departure from the country at 6:40 am.
This visit is really importance as all major issues between India and the United States will be addressed during U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s upcoming trip from April 21 to 24, which is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations, said Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.
"We have a comprehensive strategic global partnership, when you have that level of partnership with any country... obviously you will discuss all relevant issues..." said Jaiswal during the weekly media briefing last Thursday, when asked about the possibility of tariff discussions.
He added, "Of course our relationship is such that we are doing anything that is part of our human endeavour from part of our bilateral engagement ... so all these bilateral issue will be discussed and we are very positive that the visit will give a further boost to our bilateral ties."
