The blaze, first reported at 4:11 am, was escalated to a Level-III emergency by 4:49 am. While no casualties were reported, the fire caused widespread panic as thick smoke engulfed the multi-storey building, severely affecting visibility. The Mumbai Fire Brigade deployed a massive response, including 12 fire engines, nine jumbo tankers, rescue units, and an emergency ambulance. The fire was mainly contained to the basement, but smoke spread quickly throughout the structure. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
