Andheri’s Gokhale Bridge is finally open to traffic after years of delays, diversions, and one infamous 6-foot gap. Inaugurated on May 11, 2025, this crucial East-West connector in Mumbai is now fully functional. The bridge had been shut since 2022 after being declared unsafe, causing major traffic snarls and frustration for commuters. The most talked-about issue — a 6-foot misalignment between the two sides of the bridge — has now been fixed. With a full 90-foot width now operational, the Gokhale Bridge is expected to ease congestion around the busy Andheri station and metro lines. Take a look.
