Following the inauguration, CM Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, conducted a technical inspection of the metro route between Dahisar East and Kashigaon
"The trial phase of Maha Mumbai Metro Line 9 is being completed today. This line will significantly benefit residents of Mira-Bhayandar and commuters travelling from Mumbai. Phase 1 spans from Kashigaon to Dahisar, and our aim is to ensure seamless connectivity across the region," said CM Fadnavis
He further added, "For the first time in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, a double-decker bridge has been constructed — integrating both metro and railway tracks into a single structure. This innovation will help reduce traffic congestion significantly. The route will eventually be extended to Virar. All metro lines will be interconnected, and we are now accelerating the pace of work. We aim to complete all metro-related projects by the end of 2027"
Officials will now conduct a comprehensive trial run and review the technical systems to ensure safety and operational efficiency before Mumbai Metro Line 9 is opened to the public
The metro line is expected to ease road traffic and offer faster, eco-friendly transportation to residents in the Thane district
The Mumbai Metro Red Line 9 is Thane district’s first-ever Metro rail which would operate till Mira Road
It is metro line is an extension of Red Line 7 from Andheri-Dahisar to Mira-Bhayandar. It will enable a direct Metro link from Andheri (WEH) to Kashimira in the first phase and extend up to Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium, Bhayandar (West), in the second phase
While the entire Red Line 9 includes eight stations—Dahisar, Pandurang Wadi, Miragaon, Kashigaon, Sai Baba Nagar, Meditiya Nagar, Shahid Bhagat Singh Garden, and Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium—only the first four stations up to Kashigaon will be functional in the first phase
