Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday announced a new '150-day action plan' focusing on e-governance reforms, and improvement in government services, an official statement said
The announcement was made following a cabinet meeting on May 6.
CM Fadnavis said that the detailed plan regarding the 150-day action plan will be shared on May 7.
"The new initiative follows the completion of the earlier 100-day administrative reform programme, which focused on policy and governance changes," the statement said.
It said that over 12,500 government offices across Maharashtra participated in the 100-day programme, including 48 departments in Mantralaya. Of the 902 identified policy matters, decisions were made on 706 subjects, resulting in both policy-level and procedural reforms.
It further said that encouraged by the positive response, the Chief Minister launched the new phase, which will continue until 2 October and the aim is to improve how government works and deliver better services to citizens.
CM Fadnavis explained that the 150-day plan will focus on three major areas including developed Maharashtra -- setting long-term goals for the years 2029, 2035, and 2047, e-governance reforms -- making government services more digital and efficient and administrative service improvements -- ensuring faster and better service delivery.
He said, “The 100-day programme helped bring important reforms."
The Chief Minister, who resumed office in December last year, had launched a 100-day programme aimed at accelerating governance and ensuring measurable outcomes across departments.
as many as twelve out of the 48 departments within the Maharashtra government have secured a perfect score in their performance review, based on the 100-day targets set by CM Fadnavis, the officials had earlier said.
The performance evaluation was part of a comprehensive accountability exercise, with each department assigned specific deliverables to achieve within the stipulated time frame.
The goal was to foster a results-oriented culture within the administrative machinery, they had earlier said.
On May 1, in a post on X, CM Fadnavis had stated that the department-wise performance statistics, stating that 12 departments successfully fulfilled 100 per cent of their designated objectives. These top-performing departments include Water Resources, Home, Rural Development, Animal Husbandry, Ports, Higher and Technical Education, Labour, Textiles, Cultural Affairs, Mining, Dairy Development, and the Employment Guarantee Scheme.
