Amit Sadh in Kashmir
Actor Amit Sadh, an avid traveller and nature enthusiast, is heartbroken and furious following the terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed innocent lives and left many wounded. The scars of the attack are felt across the country, with citizens in shock over the tragic event.
'Heartbroken and furious'
"I am absolutely heartbroken and furious about the attack in Pahalgam. My heart goes out to every innocent life affected — to the local communities and to the brave personnel who risk everything to keep the region safe," said Amit while talking to Mid-Day.
The actor has frequently visited the Valley, a region known for its breathtaking beauty but also for the constant unrest caused by political tensions. "I’ve travelled to Kashmir several times over the years — not just for work, but because I’ve built a personal connection with the land and its people. I have close friends there — residents, and even some in the armed forces. I’ve shared laughter, stories, and countless cups of chai in homes that opened their doors with warmth and love," he shared.
Pahalgam holds a special place in my heart: Amit
Pahalgam is a hill station situated in the Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir. With its vast green meadows and pristine waters, it attracts thousands of tourists each year seeking respite from city life and a chance to connect with nature. For Amit Sadh, Pahalgam holds a deeply personal place in his heart.
"I remember one night during one of my motorcycle trips — we were camping, it was cold, and I stepped out of my tent into absolute stillness. The snow-covered peaks gleamed like diamonds in the distance, and only the twinkling stars and the crackling fire could be heard. That silence… that peace… it stays with me," said the Kai Po Che! actor, adding that he is livid and enraged to see that very peace shattered.

'We must stand together'
Sadh urged people to stand in support of Kashmir and its people. "At a time like this, fear is natural — but abandoning the Valley in fear would only let darkness win. Kashmir, Pahalgam, deserve to be seen, heard, and supported."
"Now more than ever, we must stand together as a nation — not divided by fear, but united in strength and solidarity. That’s the only way forward," he concluded.
Although authorities have stated that the official death toll from the terror attack will be released once the list of victims—with names and addresses—is finalized, sources informed IANS that 26 tourists have lost their lives, including two foreign nationals. Additionally, 20 others, comprising both tourists and local residents, were injured in the incident.
