The Bombay High Court on Saturday granted an ad-interim injunction halting Maddock Films from releasing 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' on OTT platforms before completing the agreed 8-week theatrical run with PVR Inox. The decision comes after PVR Inox approached the court following Maddock Films' announcement that the movie would skip its theatrical release due to "heightened security drills across the nation" and go straight to Amazon Prime Video on May 16. The announcement came just a day before the film's scheduled theatrical release on May 9. "In light of recent events and the heightened security drills across the nation, we at Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios have decided to bring our family entertainer, Bhool Chuk Maaf, directly to your homes on May 16--only on Prime Video, worldwide," the production house said in a social media statement. Soon after, PVR Inox approached the court, demanding that the film be released in theatres first. It stated that the last-minute change was a clear breach of their contract, which was signed on May 6, 2025. They also pointed out that the agreement included an 8-week window before the movie could be streamed online. Bhool Chuk Maaf, directed and written by Karan Sharma, features Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi together on screen for the first time. The next hearing is scheduled for June 16. 11 May,2025 08:45 AM IST | Mumbai | ANIActress Celina Jaitly has walked down the memory lane, and shared an anecdote exemplifying the history of backstabbing by Pakistan, as the rogue state violated the ceasefire on Saturday following the skirmishes. The actress took to her X, formerly Twitter, and shared a throwback picture featuring her grandfather, who served as a Colonel in the Indian forces. She also penned a long note. She wrote, “History of Backstabbing, (My Grandfather Colonel E Francis & General Ayub Khan) (Brothers in arms to adversaries) With violation of ceasefire by Pakistan history of backstabbing repeats itself. My maternal grandfather, Colonel Eric Francis, sits here as a young lieutenant (black hair, seated in khaki uniform, second from the viewer’s right) beside his THEN brother-in-arms, then Lieutenant Colonel Ayub Khan, who would later become the second President of Pakistan. Together, they fought as comrades under the British flag in World War II against the Imperial Japanese Army in Burma. They shared battlefields, hardships, and the kind of loyalty only forged in the fire of war”. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Celina Jaitly (@celinajaitlyofficial) She further mentioned that with the tragic twist of fate called Partition, history turned them from brothers to adversaries. In 1965, Ayub Khan, then Pakistan’s President, launched Operation Gibraltar against India, igniting a full-scale war. She continued, “My grandfather stood on the opposite side, defending his motherland. That war ended in an uneasy peace through the Tashkent Declaration, with a knowing this was not over perhaps. As we witness yet another chapter of Indo-Pak tensions unfold today, I cannot help but wonder how long must history repeat itself before accountability is demanded and enforced? The world must hold the Pakistani establishment accountable for repeatedly fuelling unrest, harbouring terror, and pushing our region toward conflict”. The actress then shared a message for those across the border who call for peace, as she said, “True peace comes with responsibility. Demand accountability from your leaders, from the very hands that have time and again sabotaged the hope for lasting peace”. “I wish my Nana were alive today so I could ask him how it felt to stand opposite a friend turned enemy on the battlefield. But I am grateful for the stories he left behind stories that I now have the honor to share with my strong X family here. History forgotten is history repeated. And today, more than ever, we must remember”, she added. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. 11 May,2025 08:07 AM IST | Mumbai | IANSThere is no amount of thank-yous one could say to their mother for all that she does. On the occasion of Mother’s Day today, Ira Dubey is honouring her actor-mother Lillete Dubey by dedicating 100 trees in her name. The trees are being planted in Baran, Rajasthan — a region where reforestation efforts are making a tangible difference to rural ecosystems and livelihoods. For Ira, the decision is deeply rooted in love and admiration for her mother, and to support biodiversity while offering long-term ecological and economic benefits to the area. “What better way to celebrate my mother, who has always been a nurturing force in my life, than by giving something back to mother Earth in her honour?” she queried. This green tribute is meant to improve the lives of local farming communities. A thoughtful selection of tree species — Amla, Teak, Guava, and Ber — has been chosen for their adaptability to the region’s climate. “My mother has spent a lifetime nurturing young talent in the theatre. I thank Grow-Trees [the NGO] for giving me an opportunity to not only honour her contributions but also contribute to a tree-planting initiative and protect biodiversity,” asserts Ira. While we are aware that Sunny Deol is reprising his role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri from Border (1997), Diljit Dosanjh plays Air Force Officer Nirmal Singh Sekhon, and Ahan Shetty portrays a Naval Commander in the Anurag Singh-directed film Border 2, Dhawan’s character had remained under wraps until now. An insider informs us that he will play Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, who received the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery and was promoted to Colonel after the 1971 Indo-Pak war in 1976. Before the shoot kicked off in the second week of January in Jhansi, Madhya Pradesh, Dhawan had physically prepared for the shoot over two months. “Apart from holding look sessions with designer Sheetal Sharma, Varun met Indian officers, celebrated Army Day with them and [in conversations] tried to gain a deeper understanding of their lives,” said a source, adding that the cast and crew prepped for a year before going on floors. “Varun’s scenes will begin with his departure from Sisana village in Haryana, joining the army, to his journey in the Indo-Pak war.” Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya His physical prep involved three hours of cardio and weightlifting every day, followed by training in handling arms and ammunition. “Varun’s first scene includes a massive action sequence, with heavy artillery and guns, designed by Hollywood filmmaker Nick Powell. Major Hoshiar Singh led from the front at Jarpal post in the Shakargarh sector and refused evacuation till the ceasefire, though he was heavily wounded.” The Major was ordered to capture the Pakistani locality of Jarpal by establishing a bridgehead in the Shakargarh sector. The source added, “To encourage and motivate his men to stay strong and fight, he went from trench to trench, and even manned the machine gun on his own. His company fought back all the attacks, imposing heavy mortality on the Pakistani army.” An ex-Army Major was roped in to give approvals on everything — from references and research to the badges and uniforms.

10 May,2025 10:27 PM IST | Mumbai | ANIAs the stand-off between India and Pakistan enters the diplomatic zone with the US President Donald Trump mediating de-escalatory talks, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has rendered his support to the Indian forces, and said that he is proud of our heroes who protect the lives of countless Indians. The actor said, “I stand in complete solidarity with, and support of, my government and their response to the slaughter of innocents in Pahalgam. My thoughts and prayers are with the families shattered by the violence of this most recent terror attack on our soil”. He further mentioned, “I salute the bravery and courage of our armed forces and thank them for keeping us safe. I pray we all stand united against terrorism. Jai Jawan, Jai Hind”. After almost a week of gradually intensifying escalations between the two nuclear armed nations, POTUS Donald Trump, stepped into the mediate the peace talks between the two neighbours calling for an immediate ceasefire. Earlier, JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States had said that the stand-off between India and Pakistan is none of their business. The escalations came into effect after Pakistan sponsored terrorists killed 26 tourists including a person from Nepal in Pahalgam, last month. This was followed by India’s precision strike on terror camps in Pakistan in the form of Operation Sindoor, which led to the killing of many terrorists on Pak’s soil. Pakistan responded to Operation Sindoor with drone attacks, and engaged the entire western front, and also resorted to heavy shelling causing huge casualties. In the fresh escalations, Pakistan had explicitly targeted civilian areas in India. India, on its part, had been very measured in its response, as the country destroyed 3 air bases of Pakistan recently. India reiterated its stance for de-escalation provided Islamabad respects de-escalations, and conveyed the same to Islamabad and the international community in its press-briefing earlier in the day.
