14 May,2025 08:04 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentThe Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has appealed to Indian film producers to reconsider choosing Turkey as a shooting destination, citing Turkey's growing support for Pakistan on matters affecting India's national interests. Following Turkey's support to Pakistan in attacks against India, FWICE has adhere to its belief of "Nation Comes first".FWICE has always stood firm in its belief that "Nation Comes First." Bollywood films shot in Turkey In the past some of the big Bollywood projects have shot in Turkey which has boosted the country's tourism prompting several Indians to consider Turkey as a travel option. Here are some of the Bollywood films that were shot in Turkey: Ek Tha Tiger (2013)- Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer directed by Kabir Khan had some elaborate chase sequences in Istanbul and showed the beauty of the country. Race 2 (2015)- The lavish heist film starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueliene Fernandes also had some sequences shot in Turkey. Baby (2015)- This Akshay Kumar thriller used Istanbul’s urban setting for its intense spy narrative. Several action scenes were filmed in Turkish alleys and markets. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009)- Some of the romantic and song sequences were shot in Turkey, especially in scenic Antalya with its Mediterranean charm. Guru (2007)-Though primarily shot in India, parts of the film that show Guru’s rise as a businessman were filmed in Istanbul to portray international locations. Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)- While the movie is set on a cruise through Europe, scenes in Istanbul’s port and skyline were featured as part of the Mehra family’s lavish journey. Laal Singh Chaddha (2021)- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic halting production in India, Aamir Khan and his team resumed shooting in Turkey to complete the film. Key locations included Mount Demirkazık in the Niğde province, Istanbul, and Adana . During his stay, Aamir Khan also met with Turkey's First Lady, Emine Erdoğan, at the Huber Mansion in Istanbul . FWICE urges to not shoot in Turkey The Federation wrote, "In view of recent developments and Turkey's consistent positioning in support of Pakistan, which has raised concerns regarding national integrity and security, we believe it is not in the best interests of the Indian film industry to invest or collaborate in any form that could indirectly support or benefit such a nation. Turkey's stance has been noted not only diplomatically but also in numerous international forums, where it has taken stances that contradict India's sovereign interests. Turkey's stance has been observed not just diplomatically but also in various international forums, where it has taken positions contrary to India's sovereign interests. As an industry deeply rooted in Indian soil and culture, we cannot remain indifferent to actions that undermine our nation's dignity or security." "We therefore appeal to all production houses, line producers, actors, directors, and crew members across the Indian film fraternity to stand in solidarity with the nation and boycott Turkey as a location for film shoots until such time that the country revisits its diplomatic stance and aligns with principles of mutual respect and non-interference," according to the press release Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), Ashoke Dubey, has called for a complete ban on Pakistani artists from working in India. This comes after a deadly terrorist attack that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. Tensions between India and Pakistan have risen sharply since the attack.

Tusshar on films releasing in theatres The actor spoke with IANS, when asked if it’s the right time to release the film in theatres as the nation is facing an external threat from its neighbour. He told, “I think every film has its own destiny, every film has its own quality. Genres, especially the genre of horror comedy is outstanding right now It's a blockbuster genre So, the phase that's going on right now, I think people want to see more horror comedies but the film should be good the film should look exciting and this film has all that I think our audiences would like to see in the theatre on a Friday," said that he doesn’t have adequate information to furnish any comment on the ongoing issue around Turkey and Azerbaijan supporting Pakistan in the wake of recent skirmish between India and Pakistan. Tusshar on issues with Turkey and Azerbaijan In the follow-up to the Operation Sindoor launched by India, Turkey came out strongly in support of Pakistan, and also gave military aid to Pakistan in the form of Asisguard Songar drones, which were intercepted by the Indian air-defense system. The Turkish warship TCG BYKADA was also reported to have docked at the Karachi port amidst the tension. Indians have called for a complete boycott of tourism to these countries. When he was probed about the Turkey and Azerbaijan dispute, he said, “I don't have all the information about who is supporting whom but all I will say is that we are abiding by the rules and the regulations of the authorities. According to that, the theatres are open and the films are running which means people are feeling safe and that confidence is coming from our very strong and resilient government”. “The month of May is the month of holidays for children and colleges and schools and youngsters. So, in a time wherein things are normalized and relaxed we should go and watch movies. I am not in a position to answer those questions because I don't have the adequate information”, he added. About Kapkapii trailer The trailer opens with a gang of quirky friends dabbling in the dark arts with an Ouija board, unknowingly unleashing a string of bizarre, spine-tingling events. But instead of doom and gloom, what follows is an uproarious chain of ghostly gags, possessed antics, and laugh-out-loud chaos. Ghosts groan, lights flicker, and screams mix with chuckles in this supernatural circus that wears its tagline—"Aatma Ji darshan do na"—like a badge of honor. At 29, Ahan is aware that comparisons to his father, who starred in the original, are inevitable. That’s precisely why his preparation—both physical and mental—has been nothing short of disciplined. “Fitness has been a lifelong journey for me,” says Ahan. “Since I was a kid, I’ve been into sports—volleyball, football, cricket, swimming, and mixed martial arts. As I grew older, I transitioned to gym training to build muscle for films.” While he made his acting debut in 2021 with a romantic drama, Tadap, he now has a role of a lifetime that demands military grit. For this he has been pushing his limits. “I had put on quite a bit of weight for Sanki, which was Sajid [Nadiadwala] sir’s film. So for the role that I’m playing in Border 2, I had to cut down around eight kilos,” he reveals. “There are certain regimens that I’m following for my character like training in the gym, and keeping my cardio going. My training is going on full swing as I have to lose weight for it and maintain my muscle at the same time.” With his father, one of Bollywood’s fittest stars, Ahan finds inspiration right at home as well as easy tips to follow. “He has been my inspiration in terms of fitness. He mainly gives me tips on my diet. He says my diet has to be on point. So I try and really focus on it, especially now that I am prepping for Border 2. I am watching my diet, training and recovery,” he shares. Ahan’s fitness regime is intense. He trains six days a week in the gym and supplements it with mobility and stretching sessions twice a week. “I play football, and sometimes cricket too. The strikes were carried out at 9 sites in Pakistan and targeted key terror infrastructures killing close to 100 terrorists. In the following days, tensions between India and Pakistan escalated as the latter sent in surveillance drones, and also allegedly fired a Fatah missile in addition to the Chinese made PL-15. India’s air-defence system consisting of the Russian S-400 engaged with the drones, missiles and other air-borne threats successfully neutralising all of them. Pakistan’s Mirage aircraft was also shot down by the Indian forces. Mirage aircrafts are made by the same French company Dassault Aviation, which makes French Rafale jets.
