Diljit Dosanjh at Met Gala

MET Gala 2025: What’s written on Diljit Dosanjh’s extravagant Maharaja cape?

"Punjabi aa gaye oye," Diljit Dosanjh has proved this line true every time he made a new benchmark, and on Monday, Diljit turned heads as he walked the blue carpet at the Met Gala 2025. His outfit showcased a blend of Punjabi royalty with a modern vision. What’s written on Diljit’s cape? While the entire social media was buzzing over his look, our eyes were struck by the text printed on the back of his cape. The singer’s outfit featured a long cape which had a few letters written in Punjabi, and we decided to dig a little and get more information for you all. So basically, he had Punjab's map printed on the back of his outfit. Along with it, the text written was the Punjabi alphabet — 35 letters of the Punjabi language, just as there are 26 in English. About Diljit Dosanjh’s Met Gala look Dressed like a Maharaja, Diljit made heads turn in a custom Prabal Gurung outfit. He wore traditional attire — a turban (a symbol of Sikh identity), a kurta, and a tehmat (a long tunic and draped bottoms). Proudly flaunting his Punjabi culture on a global platform, the 'Naina' hitmaker elevated his outfit with accessories and a sword. His outfit also featured a long cape. If reports are to be believed, Diljit wore exquisite jew ellery sourced from Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala's legendary Cartier collection. Met Gala 2025 marked Diljit's debut at Hollywood's biggest fashion night. Interestingly, he became the first turbaned actor-singer to debut at the Met Gala. Fans hail Diljit’s look As soon as the actor’s look came out, fans started hailing his ode to his culture. One wrote, “He understood the assignment.” “He literally ate the look,” another commented. A third fan wrote, “Giving MAHARAJA, not costume. Just culture. UNTOUCHABLE.” More Indian’s at the Met Gala 2025 Apart from Diljit, the Indian stars who were present at the Met Gala this year were Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kiara Advani, Isha Ambani, and Manish Malhotra. While Shah Rukh Khan debuted in Sabyasanchi, Kiara Advani wore custom Gaurav Gupta. The actress turns heads as she flaunts her baby bump

Parineeti Chopra

Deven Bhojani to play male lead in OTT film starring Parineeti Chopra

In February, Parineeti Chopra teased her followers on Instagram by sharing a picture with actor Deven Bhojani. Naturally, it aroused curiosity around the project. Now, months later, we have the answer, and from the horse’s mouth. Talking to mid-day, Bhojani reveals that the two have teamed up for an OTT film, which sees him as the lead opposite Chopra. Tell him that’s an on-screen couple we didn’t see coming, and the actor elaborates, “We share a different equation in the film. It’s not a hero-heroine equation. But we are playing the two lead characters.”  Recent reports suggested that Chopra was headlining an OTT film helmed by debutant director Dhruv Tripathi. Bhojani is tight-lipped about the director and further details regarding the yet-untitled movie. All he is willing to share is that the film is not a comedy, a genre he has favoured over his 38-year career. That, and about his co-star.  (From left) Deven Bhojani with Parineeti Chopra. Pics/Instagram The actor admits that before the film went on floors, he was skeptical about how Chopra would be as a co-actor. “Before the shoot, I wasn’t sure [how things would pan out] because she is a big Bollywood star, and here we were playing the leads in the film. So, I judged her a little before meeting her,” he smiles. All his doubts, however, went out the window the moment they met. “We gelled from day one. I thought to myself, ‘Yeh toh ekdum cool bandi hai’. She is down-to-earth. We would gossip, laugh out loud, and we helped each other give our best.”  The OTT film comes as the latest addition in Bhojani’s pursuit of web offerings. He has enjoyed a golden run on television not only as an actor, but also as a director — having helmed the much loved shows, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, and Sumit Sambhal Lega — but he is now single-mindedly focusing on digital entertainment. The actor reveals that he has another web project in the pipeline. “I am leading a middle-aged love story.  OTT creators know my talent and versatility. I am loving dabbling in different genres,” he says.

Sooraj Pancholi in Kesari Veer

Sooraj Pancholi on his return with Kesari Veer post Jiah Khan case

Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath is Sooraj Pancholi’s first film after his 2023 acquittal in the Jiah Khan case. In the historical drama that also stars Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi, Pancholi plays Hamirji Gohil, a warrior who defended the Somnath Temple from attack in the 14th century. “Not all actors in their career are offered a warrior film. I was offered this film because of my physicality; they wanted someone young and strong,” he says. Pancholi, who debuted with Hero (2015), is in his 10th year at the movies. Yet, Kesari Veer is only his fourth film. That is a personal choice, he states. “I had done a film, and I don’t know why I did it. But after that, I vowed that I’d never take up a project that made me feel terrible on set. Now, I only want to take up work that excites me. I wish this was my time to say, ‘Look at the volume,’ but it’s not.” Jiah Khan Circumstances have also played a role in how his career panned out. After Khan’s demise in 2013, Pancholi was charged with abetment to suicide, and acquitted in 2023. Describing the 10-year ordeal as “very difficult”, he reflects, “When all fingers point at you, you feel cornered, and I did. But I never allowed myself to spiral into bad habits like substance abuse. Keeping myself active helped to heal my mind. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, but it made me stronger. I don’t talk about it with my family or friends. But sometimes, it catches up with me, and I feel overwhelmed.”

Janhvi Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Karan Johar, Lakshya and Vikrant Massey

Dostana 2 revival on cards with Vikrant Massey, Lakshya likely to lead

Dostana 2, which was shelved in 2021 after a falling-out between producer Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan, seems to be back on the table. This time, the casting may surprise you. While original choice Aaryan has moved on to another project, Naagzilla, under the same banner, sources close to the development reveal that Lakshya continues to be part of Dostana 2’s cast. We’ve heard that Vikrant Massey is now the frontrunner to play the parallel lead.  In 2019, Dostana 2 was announced with Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Lakshya. However, after 21 days of shoot, Johar announced that Aaryan had exited the rom-com due to “creative differences”, and the project was eventually shelved. Lakshya went on to make his Bollywood debut with Kill (2023). “As initial talk about reviving the rom-com began in the production house, retaining Lakshya was a no-brainer,” says an insider. Dostana is known for its bromance, and the makers wanted a fresh jodi for the sequel. Massey, who is said to have bagged Don 3, apparently is a strong contender. The insider adds, “He is the top choice if the makers take Dostana 2 forward. The team wants actors with chemistry and gravitas. Vikrant fits that brief.”  We’ve also learnt that the script will undergo changes. If things work out, the rom-com will be a 2026 offering.
