Aryna Sabalenka got through a dramatic tiebreak set to get past Marta Kostyuk 6-1, 7-6 (8) in two hours and five minutes to storm into the quarter-final of the Italian Open here on Tuesday.

After a routine first set for the World No. 1, Sabalenka and Kostyuk put on a thrilling display in the second set. Sabalenka fought back from 3-5 down before beating Kostyuk and increasing her head-to-head lead to 4-0. She meets Zheng Qinwen of China next.
Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz was made to work for a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 win over Karen Khachanov that earned him a spot in the quarterfinals on Tuesday and a rematch with Jack Draper, who beat him earlier this year.
