The cash-rich T20 league across the globe, the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been suspended for one week due to the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. Until further notice, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that the new schedule, venues and development will be announced in due course time

On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shifted the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the UAE. Following the cross-border tensions between the two nations, India has banned the social media handles of several Pakistani celebrities, including cricketer Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan

Previously, in 2008, Mumbai witnessed a terror attack, which is referred to as the 26/11 attacks. Following the incident, India and Pakistan have stopped playing a bilateral series against each other. The only time both teams clash against each other is during the ICC events

Later in 2009, the Sri Lankan team's bus was attacked in Pakistan. It is believed that the Lankan cricketers were on their way to feature on the third day of the second Test match against Pakistan. Several Sri Lankan players were injured, which also included the captain (then), Mahela Jayawardene

Amid the tensions between India and Pakistan, several cricket stadiums, namely, Eden Gardens, Arun Jaitely, Sawai Mansingh Stadium and MA Chidambaram Stadium have received bomb threats. Recently, the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was called off due to a power outage at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala
