Entering the field as an Impact Player, Rohit contributed a valuable 26 runs for the Hardik Pandya-led side, striking three sixes in the process. It was his second maximum of the evening that earned him a notable milestone, becoming only the second player to hit 250 sixes for the Mumbai Indians in IPL history

Rohit, who has been a cornerstone of the Mumbai Indians lineup for over a decade, has now featured in 227 matches for the franchise, during which he has amassed 251 sixes

The distinction of hitting the most sixes for MI still belongs to Kieron Pollard, the former West Indies skipper and iconic all-rounder. Pollard, who represented the franchise from 2010 to 2022, smashed 258 sixes in 211 matches.

In the context of IPL history, when it comes to hitting the most sixes for a single franchise, Virat Kohli stands at the summit. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru stalwart has played 273 T20 matches for the team and has cleared the ropes an impressive 296 times. Following Kohli is the destructive Chris Gayle, who launched 263 sixes in just 91 games for the same franchise during his tenure

Not far behind is MS Dhoni, the former India captain and current leader of Chennai Super Kings, who has also made his mark in the six-hitting charts. In 265 appearances for CSK, Dhoni has registered 256 sixes, placing him just above Rohit in the all-time list. At 43 years of age, Dhoni continues to lead from the front and will captain the Men in Yellow in their upcoming blockbuster showdown against Mumbai Indians on Sunday (April 20) at the same Wankhede venue
