In the IPL 2025 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a comfortable win by nine wickets at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium.
In the run chase of 171 runs, Mumbai lost the early wicket of its opening batsman, Ryan Rickelton. The left-hander played a knock of 24 runs off just 19 deliveries before returning to the pavilion. His knock also included three boundaries and a maximum.
Despite losing Ryan's wicket, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav took the responsibility on their shoulders. After struggling to score runs in the initial IPL 2025 matches, Rohit played an unbeaten knock of 76 runs, which came in 45 balls. His unbeaten knock was laced with four boundaries and six maximums. Shouldering him was Suryakumar, who too, delivered an unbeaten knock. Facing 30 balls, he scored 68 runs, which saw him hit six boundaries and five maximums.

Riding on the duo's unbeaten knocks, MI chased the target in just 15.4 overs for the loss of just one wicket.
Ravindra Jadeja was the only successful bowler from Chennai's dugout. Matheesha Pathirana, Noor Ahmad, Impact Player Ravichandran Ashwin, Jamie Overton and Khaleel Ahmed went wicketless in the IPL 2025 match against Mumbai.
In the match's first innings, Chennai posted a total of 176 runs for the loss of five wickets after the completion of 20 overs.
Premier all-rounders Jadeja and Shivam Dube registered the scores of 53 and 50 runs, respectively. Jadeja's unbeaten knock included four boundaries and two maximums, whereas Dube's knock ended in 32 balls, including two boundaries and four maximums.
Debutant Ayush Mahtre became the third-highest run-scorer for CSK in the match. Facing just 15 balls, the right-hander garnered 32 runs, including four boundaries and two maximums.
