Despite Mumbai Indians (MI) suffering a three-wicket loss in the IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans (GT), the Paltan's premier bowler Jasprit Bumrah returned with figures of two wickets for 19 runs in four overs.
Following his bowling heroics, former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra hailed the Indian pacer by saying he is once-in-a-generation talent.
"Bumrah has made it a habit to produce game-changing spells," Chopra said on JioHotstar. "Coming in right after the strategic timeout and rain break, he dismissed Shubman Gill and then Shahrukh Khan, swinging the momentum back to MI. He's a once-in-a-generation talent, you could talk about him endlessly," he added.
Further, the 47-year-old said that Bumrah deserves to be the most expensive player in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). "Frankly, he deserves to be the most expensive player in the league. It's unfortunate that he isn't," he remarked.

The spell against Gujarat, yet again, proved why Bumrah stands out to be the most effective and feared bowler, who is capable of turning the pressure on his opposition.
Following the loss against GT, MI is now placed in the fourth position on the IPL 2025 points table. The Hardik Pandya-led side has now suffered seven wins and five losses in 12 matches. Currently, they have 14 points with a net run rate (NRR) of +1.56.
The Paltan is still left with two of their IPL 2025 matches. They will lock horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 11 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
MI will then conclude its IPL 2025 group stage playing their last match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium.
Meanwhile, the win against MI has helped Gujarat climb up to the top spot on the points table. With eight wins and three losses, Gujarat has 16 points with a net run rate (NRR) of +0.793 in 11 matches.
The Gill-led GT will take on DC in its upcoming IPL 2025 match, followed by the clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Their last group stage match is scheduled to be played against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 18.
