Following President Vladimir Putin's announcement of a 30-hour ceasefire in observance of Easter, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Russian forces carried out attacks, citing a total of 387 shelling incidents and 19 assaults.

Zelensky further said that despite Russia's declared truce, Ukrainian frontline units recorded 59 cases of shelling and five assaults, along with multiple combat engagements across the Donetsk, Starobilsk, and Zaporizhzhia sectors.

"As of Easter morning, we can say that the Russian army is trying to create a general impression of a ceasefire, but in some places, it does not abandon individual attempts to advance and inflict losses on Ukraine," Zelensky said in a post on X.

"In practice, either Putin does not have full control over his army, or the situation proves that in Russia, they have no intention of making a genuine move toward ending the war, and are only interested in favourable PR coverage," he wrote.
