Emotional scenes: Pak nationals' relatives urge centre as deportation order tears families apart

Heartbreak spread across Jammu and Kashmir as the Indian government deported Pakistani nationals after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people. Many of those deported had lived in Kashmir for decades, married to locals and raising families. The government revoked their visas and gave a 48-hour deadline for those under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme to leave, with most leaving by April 27. Medical visa holders were allowed until April 29. Former CM Mehbooba Mufti called the move a "humanitarian crisis." Families cried as loved ones were forced to leave, with border crossings closed and strict travel bans in place.
