The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced that a detailed press briefing on Operation Sindoor will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 am. According to ANI, Key information regarding the scope, intent and aftermath of the operation is expected to be released during the session.
India has executed its most significant military strikes inside Pakistan's undisputed territory since the 1971 war. The operations targeted major terror infrastructure in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The coordinated strikes were launched in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed several Indian lives. As per ANI, the targets included senior operatives of terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who have been linked to the planning and execution of multiple attacks on Indian soil.
In a formal statement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed: "A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor', striking terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terror attacks against India have been orchestrated."

The statement further emphasised that the strikes were "focused, measured, and non-escalatory." No Pakistani military establishments were struck, underlining India's restrained and calculated approach. The selection of targets and the mode of execution were deliberately chosen to avoid military escalation, according to the MoD. the selection
Nine terror hubs were successfully destroyed, four within undisputed Pakistani territory, specifically in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot; and five across PoJK. The operation, carried out with surgical precision, utilised advanced munitions and involved joint coordination between the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally monitored Operation Sindoor throughout the night. All designated targets were confirmed destroyed, signalling a high degree of mission success.
Pakistan Army responded with unprovoked aggression, violating the ceasefire by indiscriminately shelling civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) adjacent to Jammu and Kashmir. The shelling occurred during the night of May 6-7.
Tragically, three innocent civilians lost their lives in the cross-border firing. The Indian Army stated that it is responding "in a proportionate manner" to Pakistan's ceasefire violations.
In an official statement, the Indian Army said: "During the night of May 6-7 2025, the Pakistan Army resorted to arbitrary firing, including artillery shelling from posts across the Line of Control and IB opposite J&K. Three innocent civilians lost their lives in indiscriminate firing/shelling. Indian Army are responding in a proportionate manner."
