On the occasion of Maharashtra Day 2025, a Chief Minister Relief Fund Cell was inaugurated by Public Works Department Minister Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale at the Latur District Collectorate to facilitate faster disbursement of financial aid to patients for treatment in central Maharashtra, news agency PTI reported.
"This cell will eliminate the need for patients and their families to travel to Mumbai for updates or assistance," said Bhosale, who also serves as the district's guardian minister.
"Now, patients can access guidance, submit applications, and track progress locally," he added.
The cell, part of a state-wide initiative under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti government, was set up following a government resolution issued on February 22 under the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Relief Fund Cells are being established in every district to simplify the aid process and reduce the burden on the families of patients, reported PTI.
