And though Nallasopara may sound like a unlikely venue for an electronic festival, event organiser Cliff D'souza assures us it will be worth it. "The beach is too beautiful for words, and it's a great venue to just watch the waves and listen to some great music," he says, and then goes on to explain the unique name of the festival, Purple Stray. "We spotted a purple-coloured dog, so that explains the name, but it also talks about all those electronic artists who are not getting their share of recognition. It will be the revenge of the underdogs," he says. Some of the artists playing include DJ Reji, BBC, Phi Degrees, Mosquito Masala, DJ Trevor and Sarvesh. The USP: You can book bungalows or just pitch a tent on the beach, drink a beer, dance like mad, or go for a dip in the ocean in the middle of the night it's all good.

The bond between Rio-born vocalist/lyricist Lilian Vieira, keyboard man/producer Stefan Schmid (Munich) and drummer Stefan Kruger (Amsterdam) of Zuco 103 Soundsystem goes back to 1998.
