In a post on social media platform X, Gaikwad wrote, "In moments of grief, a nation stands still, yet together. No act of terror can shake the soul of a united India." Six tourists from Maharashtra have died in Tuesday's attack

The 'Sadbhavna Morcha' was held in solidarity with the families of the victims. "We express our support to the families and at the same time, we demand decisive and exemplary action by the government against the perpetrators," she added in her post

Meanwhile, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on Wednesday alleged that the Pahalgam terror attack was a failure of intelligence agencies, and sought answers from the government

He made the statement while speaking during a protest march organised by the Maharashtra Congress at Dadar in central Mumbai to condemn the terror attack

State Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal, who led the protest, demanded strict action against Pakistan-sponsored terrorists responsible for the attack and called for a permanent end to terrorism

"The government must call an all-party meeting to arrive at a unanimous decision regarding the Pahalgam attack. A clear message should go out that no such terrorist act will be tolerated. In these difficult times, all Indians must unite and condemn this attack," he said

Meanwhile, India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan with immediate effect. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that recognising the seriousness of the terrorist attack, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) decided upon the measure, apart from four other key decisions

Misri said, "The Defence/Military, Naval and Air Advisors in the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi are declared Persona Non Grata. They have a week to leave India. India will be withdrawing its own Defence/Navy/Air Advisors from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Five support staff of the Service Advisors will also be withdrawn from both High Commissions"

Misri also said that Pakistani nationals will not be permitted to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) visas
