Over the past few days, cousins Raj and Uddhav Thackeray have sparked speculation about a possible reconciliation, with statements suggesting they could overlook "trivial issues" and join hands for the sake of Maharashtra and the Marathi 'manoos'. Amid these reports, an old photograph featuring the late Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray with his son Uddhav and nephew Raj surfaced on a banner outside a church in Girgaum, Mumbai, on Sunday (PICS/SHADAB KHAN)

Recently, Raj Thackeray, who heads the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), expressed his willingness to reunite with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav by forgetting past differences
Raj Thackeray had floated MNS in 2006 after leaving the (undivided) Shiv Sena
While the MNS chief said uniting in the interests of "Marathi manoos" was not difficult, former CM Uddhav Thackeray said he was ready to put aside trivial fights, provided that those working against Maharashtra's interests were not entertained
Following Raj Thackeray's statement, Shiv Sena (UBT) lawmaker Sanjay Raut on Sunday said that there was no alliance in place as of now between the two parties, and only 'emotional' talks are taking place
Raut also said that the relationship between the two brothers had not been broken
