RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasises that the fight following the Pahalgam terror attack is not between religions, but a battle between dharma (righteousness) and adharma (unrighteousness). He calls for unity and strength in the face of such attacks, drawing parallels with the epic Ramayana

In the wake of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed an event in Mumbai, asserting that the current struggle transcends religious and sectarian divides. He described the conflict as one between 'Dharma' (righteousness) and 'Adharma' (unrighteousness), a fight that, according to him, is not merely based on religious differences but on the larger moral battle between good and evil.

Speaking at the event, Bhagwat condemned the actions of the terrorists who targeted innocent civilians, highlighting the fact that their brutal acts were carried out with a focus on religious identity. "Our soldiers, our people, have never killed anyone based on their religion," Bhagwat remarked. "The fanatics responsible for this attack have no place in our world, and Hindus would never act in such a manner."

Bhagwat went on to draw an analogy from the Hindu epic Ramayana, comparing the situation to Lord Ram's battle with the demon king Ravana. He stated that, just as Ravana's evil could only be eradicated by Ram's intervention, similarly, those who engage in acts of violence and evil must be defeated. "Evil must be eliminated," he said, "because this fight is about righteousness, and we must gather the strength to destroy the demons."

The RSS chief expressed confidence in India's resolve and the growing strength of the nation's defences, stating, "Our country has an army, and we are no longer complacent after the lessons we learned in 1962. We must be united to defeat evil." He highlighted that while anger and weapons are essential in fighting such attacks, true power comes from unity and emotional integration within society.

"The national outrage following the recent attack was a testament to the unity of our people, irrespective of their caste, religion, or political affiliation," Bhagwat continued. "We must remain united, and this unity will strengthen our nation. When we stand together, no one will dare look at us with hostility."

He also urged the people of India to remain focused on the larger goal of societal cohesion, pointing out that history has shown us the consequences of division. "We were once told that different religions could not coexist, and this led to the division of our nation," Bhagwat said. "But 75 years later, this division still haunts us. We must take such threats seriously."

According to ANI, Bhagwat emphasised that the whole world should be seen as one family, transcending religious and sectarian lines, and that hatred and enmity should not define the nation's nature. He stressed that India's strength must be visible, and this visible strength will deter those who wish to challenge the country's dignity and security. "When we are strong and united, evil forces will understand that we cannot be provoked."
