BMC demolishes 1,500 sq ft 'illegal' bunglow in Mumbai's Madh

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday demolished a bungalow in Madh area of Mumbai which was allegedly constructed using a forged map within the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) limits, the officials said.

According to a BMC official, the bungalow, named ‘Preet', located in the Erangal village area of Madh, was found to have been illegally constructed. The structure, spanning approximately 1,500 square feet, was built on the basis of a fake map.

Demolition was undertaken by the BMC using one Poklen and two JCB machines. Adequate police security was deployed throughout the operation, which was carried out in the presence of BMC staff and officials, the civic officials said.

The demolition drive was supervised by Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone 4), Bhagyashree Kapse, and Assistant Commissioner of P North Ward, Kundan Walvi.
