Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma was summoned by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police for his statement in connection with car designer Dilip Chhabria's alleged cheating and forgery case on Thursday, said Mumbai Police.
Sharma had earlier filed a complaint against Chhabria for allegedly cheating him. Now he has been called to record statement as a witness, added police.
Earlier on Thursday, Chhabria was brought to the office of Mumbai Police Commissioner after his hearing at Esplanade court.
Chhabria, the founder of DC design, was arrested in a cheating and forgery scam in connection with the sale of DC Avanti and other cars. The scam is of over Rs 40 crore, the Mumbai police had said.
