Ajit Pawar congratulates Vaibhavi Deshmukh, daughter of Santosh Deshmukh, for outstanding HSC results 2025 amid personal tragedy

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has extended heartfelt congratulations to Vaibhavi Santosh Deshmukh, who secured an impressive 85.33 per cent in the Class XII Science stream despite enduring a tragic personal loss.

Vaibhavi is the daughter of the late Santosh Deshmukh, the Sarpanch of Massajog in Beed district, who was brutally murdered on December 9, 2024. Just three months after her father's shocking and widely condemned killing, Vaibhavi appeared for her Class 12 board exams and delivered an exceptional performance.

In a personal message, Ajit Pawar lauded Vaibhavi's strength and determination, saying, "The entire state of Maharashtra, including myself, is proud of your achievement. Your perseverance in the face of immense sorrow is truly inspiring. You have displayed exceptional intelligence, courage, patience, and maturity."

Pawar noted that although her father is no longer alive to witness her success in HSC results 2025, the people of Maharashtra share in the pride and joy of her accomplishment. "I am confident your journey will serve as a source of inspiration to countless students across the state," he added.

He also assured Vaibhavi of the state government's continued support in her academic and personal journey, wishing her the very best for the future.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results on Monday, reporting a statewide pass percentage of 91.88 per cent.

According to MSBSHSE Chairperson Sharad Gosavi, girls once again outperformed boys in the HSC results 2025, with a pass percentage of 94.58 per cent compared to 89.51 per cent for boys.

Among the state's divisions, Konkan topped the chart with a pass percentage of 96.74 per cent, followed by Kolhapur (93.64 per cent), Mumbai (92.93 per cent), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (92.24 per cent), Amravati (91.43 per cent), Pune (91.32 per cent), Nashik (91.31 per cent), Nagpur (90.52 per cent), and Latur (89.46 per cent).

Out of 14,27,085 students registered for the March examination, 14,17,969 appeared and 13,02,873 successfully passed.

The Science stream recorded the highest success rate at 97.35 per cent, followed by Commerce (92.68 per cent), Vocational (83.26 per cent), and Arts (80.52 per cent).
