Each year during the Holy Week, the streets of Seville in Spain turn into a sacred stage hosting a centuries-old catholic tradition.

Scenes of solemnity awaken quietly as the traditional procession is led by the San Gonzalo brotherhood through the streets of Seville.

By marching in solemn devotion, the Penitents of San Gonzalo procession honors Christ’s sacrifice.

The Penitents, also called the 'nazarenos' clad in pointed hoods and robes, carry forward the essence of Seville’s timeless catholic rituals.

The public display of faith and devotion draws thousands of onlookers each year.
