Aly Goni supports ceasefire amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, hits back at trolls: ‘Want to abuse me? Go on’

Kashmir-born actor Aly Goni has been proactive in reacting to developments in the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict. With the countries agreeing on a ceasefire, Aly has expressed relief as his family is in Kashmir, but many have been trolling him for his recent comments. Goni, who has noticed hate comments under his posts, has finally reacted, saying he "doesn't care."

It was after the ceasefire violation by Pakistan that Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri asked Pakistan to deal with the situation with "seriousness" and "responsibility." Reacting to this, Aly took a dig at Pakistan, and now he has been trolled for that post. Responding to those targeting him, Aly shared his views on X and wrote, "People want to abuse me, please go on, I don't care at all. I still want peace for my State, for my Family, for my Country. AND that's my opinion and it will not change. #ceasefire."

"Urdu mein likh ke bhejo, English mein samajh nahi aaya hoga" (Please send it in Urdu, they might not have understood English), Aly had written earlier while reacting to Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri's tweet asking Pakistan to deal with the ceasefire violation with "seriousness."

Earlier, Goni had shared a couple of photos with his family members and wrote, "Sleepless and shattered, stuck out of India as my family in Jammu endures last night's attack. My whole family - children and parents - faces the terror of drones and unrest, yet some people glorify this war from the comfort of their homes, posting on social media. It's not that easy for those near the border. Thanks to our IAF and Indian Army. Praying for safety and peace."

India confirmed ceasefire

Informing about the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said in a press briefing, "The DGMO of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land, air, and sea with effect from 17:00 hours IST."

About India-Pakistan conflict

On May 8, Pakistan launched a series of aerial strikes targeting over a dozen locations, including the Jammu civil airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and multiple military installations in the region. These strikes followed India's precision strikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, part of Operation Sindoor, which was a response to the devastating Pahalgam terror attacks. Despite the escalation in hostilities, India's S-400 air defense system effectively intercepted and neutralized the incoming threats.
