Samantha's production house, Tralala Moving Pictures, co-produced the film along with Kanakavalli Talkies. In an earlier post, Samantha had described the film as "a project that embodies Tralala's vision of unique, thought-provoking cinema that leaves you wanting more and, hopefully over time, will help audiences identify and highlight content coming out of our Tralala banner."
Penned by Vasanth Mariganti, Subham was directed by Praveen Kandregula. The duo had previously collaborated on the acclaimed drama Cinema Bandi.
The film also serves as a debut platform for six promising new talents: Harshith Reddy, Shriya Kontham, Charan Peri, Shalini Kondepudi, Gavireddy Srinivas, and Shravani. The film further boasts an impressive technical crew, including cinematographer Mridul Sujit Sen, production designer Ram Charan Tej, and editor Dharmendra Kakarla.
The actress was last seen in the Prime Video series Citadel: Honey Bunny, alongside Varun Dhawan. The series is the Indian spin-off of the American show Citadel on Amazon Prime Video, which starred Priyanka Chopra in the lead. Packed with adrenaline-pumping action sequences and emotional drama, the show was well received by audiences, with many appreciating the chemistry between Samantha and Varun as they navigated a world of espionage, betrayal, and danger.
She is set to reunite with Raj and DK for Rakt Bramhand, a fantasy action series also starring Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi. In addition, Samantha will star in Bangaram, a film she announced on her birthday. This project is particularly significant for her, as it marks her debut as a producer.
