Yash
In a major development, industry sources indicate that Rocking Star Yash is set to join the shoot of Ramayana Part 1 starting next week in Mumbai. To signify an auspicious commencement to his journey with this mythological epic, Yash will first visit the revered Shree Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain to seek the divine blessings. This visit highlights a cherished practice for the superstar, who commences every new film project with a temple visit.
In addition to playing a pivotal role, Yash is co-producing the film under his banner, Monster Mind Creations along with Malhota's Prime Focus Studios. As a hands-on co-producer, he has been working closely with the team on all aspects of the ambitious project and is slated to kickstart shooting his scenes from the end of April.
Producer Namit Malhotra - one of the most influential Indian names across Hollywood and the Indian film industry - is backing Indian cinema's most ambitious mythological epic to date. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana boasts rich storytelling, cutting-edge technology, and a cinematic vision set to redefine the mythological genre for a global audience.

Last year while talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Yash revealed what got him to co-produce the film. Yash recounted their first meeting, explaining that he was in Los Angeles, discussing VFX for Toxic when he met Namit. As they talked, Namit shared his vision for Ramayana, a project they had been working on for years.
"I liked Namit and his vision. We both shared the same goal - to bring Indian films to international platforms. With the kind of support we've received from our audience, our visions were aligned. During our discussion, he just asked me, âDo you want to be part of this?' I immediately understood the value he would add to my vision. He's a great guy with huge potential, and not many people are aware of his achievements. His company has won 5-6 Oscars, and it's amazing that an Indian has taken over and is doing such wonderful things. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have such great partners," Yash said.
Talking about the character, he had said, "It's a very fascinating character. I wouldn't have done it for any other reason. In Ramayana, if you had asked me, âWould you play any other character?' Probably not." Furthermore, he continued, "For me, Ravana is the most exciting character to play as an actor so I really like the shades and the nuances of a particular character. There's vast scope to present it in a very different way. As an actor, I am very excited. Hopefully, it's going to be a very unique approach to it."
Ramayana Part 1 is all set to release on Diwali 2026, followed by Ramayana Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
