Celebs denied house for being Muslim

Aly Goni recently announced that he and his girlfriend, actress Jasmin Bhasin, are planning to move in together, but his decision came with its own challenges

In a recent interview, he talked about how he still faces problems for being a Muslim and shared, "When Jasmin and I were looking for a house, many people rejected us saying, 'Hum Muslims ko ghar nahi dete'"

Who would have thought that even Saif Ali Khan would encounter such a problem? In a throwback interview, Saif revealed that even his star power was of no use when it came to buying a house in Juhu

The actor was seen saying, "Try to buy a house in Juhu being a Muslim, and you will be denied, saying, ‘We don’t give houses to Muslims'"

Emraan Hashmi once encountered a problem when he tried to buy a house in the Nibbana Cooperative Housing Society at Pali Hill, one of the posh areas in Mumbai, but was denied an NOC because he is a Muslim

In an interview, Emraan shared, "Some people told me that this society is biased towards Muslims. They did not tell me directly, but it was obvious"

"I don’t deserve to get a house in Mumbai because I’m M B A," Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress Shireen Mirza wrote in a Facebook post while sharing her experience of being requested not to reveal that she is a Muslim to the owner

Shireen revealed that the broker asked her to do the registration in her friend’s name, who is a Hindu, and wrote, "I mean, what’s in a name? There’s no difference in the blood"

Television actor Zain Imam opened up about the struggle he faced in his early days in the city because of his Muslim identity

In an interview, the actor revealed that he was denied housing and said, "I desperately looked for a decent place to stay, but no one would rent me a place because I was an actor and also because of my religion"

Uorfi Javed already faces her own struggles because of people's judgment toward her dressing sense, but she never expected her religion to also become a problem while buying a house

In an interview, Uorfi Javed shared that Muslim owners don't want to rent their house to her because of the way she dresses, while Hindu owners don't want to rent to her because she is a Muslim

In one of the conversations, Eijaz shared that he searched in different locations in Bandra but members of his own community didn’t want to rent out their flats to him because he has two dogs. Hindus and Christians refused because he is a Muslim

Eijaz Khan, who has been making headlines since his breakup with Bigg Boss fame Pavitra Punia, had once in an interview opened up about being denied a house just because he is a Muslim
